
Priscilla: The Cancelled Spider Queen Champion of League of Legends
Priscilla was a cancelled League of Legends champion originally conceived as the Spider Queen in 2009. She later served as inspiration for the champion Elise.
Abilities:
Passive - Camouflage
- Gains 20-80% bonus mana regeneration (scales with level)
Ensnare
- Throws a web that immobilizes enemies
- Drags caught enemies toward Priscilla
- Deals 1.25 damage per unit of distance moved
Inject Spiderlings
- Passive: Basic attacks apply poison stacks
- Each stack slows target by 10% + 4% per stack for 4 seconds
- Killed targets spawn Spiderlings (one per stack)
- Spiderlings: 340 HP, 0 armor, 20 damage, last 60 seconds
Thirst
- Passive: Grants life steal
Corpsemaker
- Pins target for 2.75 seconds
- Rapidly slashes with front claws
- Deals damage every 0.25 seconds
Development History:
- Originally named Nidalee, then Priscilla (2009)
- Artwork and spell icons remained in game files for years
- Inspired Urgot's original design
- Referenced in "Priscilla's Blessing" item (removed)
- Community petition gained 24,000+ votes for her release
- Concept eventually evolved into current champion Elise
The champion used Evelynn's voice lines during Alpha Week 6 testing before being cancelled.
References remain to Priscilla in various game elements, though she never made it past development. Her design concepts and abilities were eventually reworked and incorporated into other champions, particularly Elise.
