Starting with movement and normal attacks, Kalista generates spears in her targets which last for 4 seconds. Using her E - Rend, she pulls these spears out to deal damage and slow enemies. If Rend kills a target, its cooldown resets and mana is refunded.

Her Q - Piercing throws a spear that can transfer Rend stacks to subsequent targets if it kills the first hit. This allows for efficient wave clear and extended trading potential.

W - Warding provides vision control through sentinels and enables the Soulbound passive with her Oathsworn ally (typically support). When both attack the same target within 4 seconds, they deal bonus magic damage equal to 14% of target's max health at level 1.

For optimal trading in lane:

  • Stack spears on minions until they're executable with Rend
  • Attack enemy champion at least once within 4 seconds
  • Have your Oathsworn proc the Soulbound damage
  • Use Rend to execute minions and damage/slow the enemy

R - Fate's Call pulls your Oathsworn to you, putting them in stasis for up to 4 seconds. They can then launch toward a location, knocking up enemies in their path. This serves both as engage and disengage tool.

Key Build Path:

  • Focus on attack speed and on-hit effects
  • Crit items are not optimal
  • Build for early game dominance

Ability Priority: E > Q > W

  • Start with E at level 1
  • Take Q at level 2 (W only if immediate trading is needed)
  • Max E first, then Q, then W
  • Take R at levels 6/11/16

Kalista excels at:

  • Early game dominance
  • Extended fights
  • Objective control
  • Support synergy

Best Support Pairings:

  • Thresh (top choice)
  • Engage supports who can utilize R effectively
  • Ranged supports who can safely proc Soulbound

Use Cleanse as summoner spell to counter slows and CC, which severely impact your mobility-dependent playstyle.
