Destiny 2's Next Act Will Nerf Dominant PvP Weapons and Hunter Abilities
Destiny 2's upcoming Act Two update will introduce significant changes to balance the current PvP meta, specifically targeting dominant weapons and abilities that have been causing frustration in the Crucible.
The Redrix's Estoc pulse rifle, which currently holds a 17% usage rate in Trials of Osiris, will receive several nerfs:
- Sword Logic perk changes (PvP only):
- Base damage bonus reduced: 20% → 15%
- Super damage bonus increased: 35% → 50%
Lightweight pulse rifles will see these adjustments:
- Body shot damage reduced: 20.4 → 19.7
- Critical hit damage reduced: 31.8 → 31.5
- Redrix's Estoc handling stat decreased: 79 → 74
Void Hunter abilities are also being modified:
- Smoke bomb changes:
- Removes movement speed reduction
- Removes jump height reduction
- Removes weapon handling penalties
- Removes movement ability suppression
- On the Prowl Aspect:
- Removes pink glow from first-person perspective when marked
These balance changes will go live with Act Two's launch on March 11, 2024. The adjustments aim to create a more balanced PvP experience by addressing the current meta's most dominant options while maintaining viability of these choices in a more balanced state.
