Riot Games might reverse course on Viktor's controversial LoL changes
Riot Games may be reconsidering their controversial changes to Viktor in League of Legends, following significant player backlash and comments from co-founder Marc "Tryndamere" Merrill during a recent stream.
The planned Visual and Gameplay Update (VGU) aimed to align Viktor's character with his appearance in Arcane season two. However, this decision sparked outrage among longtime Viktor players, who felt Riot was prioritizing Arcane fans over the core playerbase.

The controversy intensified when the update hit the Public Beta Environment (PBE), where players noticed certain skins, particularly Creator and Death Sworn Viktor, showed a significantly reduced physique. Merrill acknowledged these concerns during his stream, admitting to "not great skin execution" and confirmed they are reviewing Viktor's changes.
In response to the feedback, Riot has already implemented some adjustments, particularly to restore Viktor's larger frame in the affected skins. Riot Pabro confirmed these modifications on December 4th via social media.
The situation presents a challenging balance for Riot Games, as they attempt to satisfy both traditional Viktor players who oppose major changes to their favorite champion, and Arcane fans who support the new direction. These ongoing adjustments suggest Riot is actively working to find a middle ground between the two communities.
