Dr Disrespect from Midnight Society gaming
Midnight Society, the gaming studio co-founded by Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm, has announced its closure on January 30, 2024, before releasing its debut game DEADROP. The studio employed 55 developers and operated for over three years.

According to level designer Brad Boice, employees received only two days' notice of the closure, with the studio citing a lack of funding as the primary reason. This follows earlier warning signs, including a round of layoffs in September 2023.
The closure coincides with Dr Disrespect's departure from the studio following allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor. While the studio closes its doors, Dr Disrespect has achieved recent success with the re-monetization of his YouTube channel, announced on the same day as the studio's closure.
DEADROP, the extraction shooter that was in development, will not be completed or released. Midnight Society has not provided additional details about the circumstances of their closure or plans for their intellectual property.
