The Legacy Vault is a special collection in League of Legends that contains exclusive cosmetic content, available only during special events. Initially established in October 2013, the vault includes both retired skins and seasonal items.

Legacy items can be obtained through:

• Special event sales
• Hextech and Mastery Chests
• Rerolling cosmetic content
• Mystery Gifts

Note: Champion skins priced under 520 RP are excluded from these methods.

Major Event Categories:

Championship Series

• New Season: Challenger skins (Ahri, Nidalee)
• Mid Season: Conqueror skins (Alistar, Karma, Nautilus, Varus)
• End of Season: Worlds skins (2012-2019)

World Championship Winner Skins

• Commemorates each season's world champion team
• Available during World Championship events
• Includes sets from Season One (Fnatic) through Season Nine (FPX)

Seasonal Events

• Harrowing (Halloween-themed)
• Lunar Revel (Lunar New Year)
• Snowdown (Winter/Holiday)
• Valentine's Day

Regional Events

• Special content for Brazil, Japan, Korea, Latin America, OCE, and Russia

Important Distinctions:

• Only one Limited Edition skin has been released since 2013
• Most temporary content is classified as Legacy
• Certain items (like Victorious Skins) remain exempt from the vault
• Legacy skins remain playable and visible after retirement

The Legacy Vault ensures rare cosmetics remain accessible while maintaining their exclusive nature through controlled availability periods.

All Legacy items can return to the store during special events, making them different from Limited Edition items which are typically one-time releases.
