Marvel Rivals features three distinct roles that each hero falls into, similar to other hero shooter games. Each role serves a specific purpose in team composition and gameplay strategy.

Vanguard (Tank)

• Frontline fighters with high HP
• Lead attacks and protect teammates
• Absorb damage and play objectives

Duelist (Damage)

• Primary damage dealers
• Focus on eliminating enemies
• Require precise aim and positioning

  • Iron Man
  • Spider-Man
  • Storm
  • Wolverine
  • Plus 11 more

Strategist (Support)

• Team healers and support specialists
• Provide crucial battlefield assistance
• Focus on keeping teammates alive
• Heroes include:

  • Cloak and Dagger
  • Jeff the Land Shark
  • Loki
  • Luna Snow
  • Mantis
  • Rocket Raccoon

Teams consist of six players, with flexible role composition. While a balanced 2-2-2 split (two of each role) is traditional, players can experiment with different team compositions to suit their strategy.
