17-year-old Donk Makes History as Youngest CS Major MVP in Spirit's Victory over FaZe
Team Spirit secured their first CS Major victory at the Shanghai Major 2024, defeating FaZe Clan in a thrilling 2-1 series. The 17-year-old donk made history by becoming the youngest-ever Major MVP with a record-breaking 1.49 rating.
The series unfolded across three maps:
- Nuke: Spirit won 13-8, powered by strong performances from magixx and donk
- Ancient: FaZe equalized with a dominant CT side
- Dust 2: Spirit clinched the series 13-11, with donk posting an exceptional 1.98 rating
Spirit built a commanding 12-5 lead on the deciding map, surviving a late FaZe comeback attempt. Despite FaZe's strong playoff run, including victories over Vitality and G2, they couldn't overcome Spirit's momentum in the final rounds.
This victory marks a significant milestone for Spirit, who had previously defeated FaZe 3-0 at IEM Katowice earlier in the year. The win is particularly meaningful given both teams' inconsistent performances throughout 2024.
