A new streamer mode feature has been discovered in League of Legends' Public Beta Environment (PBE) files, though its current implementation appears to have limitations compared to similar features in other games.
Data miner r/FrankTheBoxMonster found evidence of an upcoming streamer mode option that will replace summoner names with champion names in various game elements, including:
- In-game chat
- Game announcements
- Player health bars

However, the current implementation has a significant limitation: players who don't have streamer mode enabled can still see the streamer's summoner name. This differs from VALORANT's more comprehensive streamer mode, which fully conceals player identities.
The proposed system fails to address key streaming concerns:
- Stream sniping prevention
- Protecting players from harassment
- Concealing alternate accounts
