Hextech Crafting is a reward system in League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics that allows players to earn champions, skins, and other content through gameplay achievements.
The system uses various containers to distribute rewards:
Chests and Keys
- Regular Hextech Chests require keys to open
- Contain champions, skins, emotes, and other rewards
- Have "bad luck protection" ensuring at least one skin shard every three chests
- 10% chance for bonus chest drops
Capsules
- Champion Capsules: Earned through leveling up, contain champion shards and Blue Essence
- Glorious Champion Capsules: Special milestone rewards with better loot
- Event Capsules: Available during special events
Other Containers
- Mystery Tokens: Random content from specific categories
- Orbs: Usually contain one skin shard plus bonus drops
- Little Legend Eggs: Specific to TFT, contain Little Legend variants
Crafting Materials
- Blue Essence (BE): Used for champion unlocks
- Orange Essence (OE): Used for cosmetic unlocks
- Mythic Essence: Rare currency for exclusive content
Key Features
- Equal odds for all skin rarities
- Ultimate/Mythic skins drop as permanents
- No champions under 4800 BE from chests
- Mythic Essence bonus drops (~3.6% chance)
