The Shadow of War, Hecarim is a spectral fusion of man and beast, eternally cursed to hunt the souls of the living. Once a proud knight commander of the Iron Order in Camavor, his ambition and bloodlust led to his transformation during the Ruination of Helia.

Originally serving as a lieutenant protecting King Viego's lands, Hecarim gained his position as Knight Commander through treachery, abandoning his predecessor in battle. His thirst for power and glory grew as he led the Iron Order in brutal campaigns, burning towns and executing hundreds.

When Queen Isolde was poisoned, Hecarim manipulated events to his advantage. After learning of the Blessed Isles from General Kalista, he convinced King Viego to seek its legendary Waters of Life. Upon reaching Helia, Hecarim betrayed Kalista by stabbing her in the back and ordered his forces to pillage the city.

The resulting magical catastrophe known as the Ruination transformed Hecarim into a monstrous fusion of knight and steed. Now an undead wraith, he leads the Black Mist's charge across Runeterra, reveling in slaughter and crushing enemies beneath his armored hooves.
