Baldur's Gate 3's Next Patch Brings 12 New Subclasses and Cross-Platform Play

Larian Studios has announced major additions coming to Baldur's Gate 3 in Patch 8, introducing significant new features that expand the game's already extensive content.

The update will add 12 new subclasses, one for each existing class, including popular D&D options such as:

  • College of Glamour Bard
  • Hexblade Warlock
  • Bladesinging Wizard
  • Drunken Master Monk
  • Shadow Magic Sorcerer

The patch also introduces two highly anticipated features:

  • PC and console players can now play together
  • Cross-progression functionality included
  • Seamless integration across all platforms

  • Photo filters, stickers, and frames
  • Enhanced character posing capabilities

Additional content includes bug fixes, gameplay adjustments, and special Christmas-themed puzzles with rewards. Larian plans to begin stress testing Patch 8 in early 2025, with the full release expected shortly after.
